The 2015 Millbrook Monster 10K hill run will be at Stayley Cricket Club on Wednesday 29th July.
Possibly one of the most scenic running events in the area, the Millbrook Monster is a 10Km multi-terrain race that takes in all that is best about Millbrook's natural landscape. Starting from the Country Park the route takes you across Walkerwood Reservoir before making a gentle climb across the western edge of Harridge Pike. This section of the race presents magnificent views of Manchester and the Cheshire Plain before turning up towards Higher Swineshaw Reservoir and the moorland scenery of Turf Pits. The latter stages of the route are a gradual decent past all four reservoirs and the mixed woodland of Brushes Valley.
The Junior Monster
Running alongside this years event is the 4Km race for runners aged between 9 and 14. Using much of the opening sections of the Senior race, the route takes in much of the mixed terrain whilst remaining in the area of Walkerwood and the Country Park.

This event is organised by Hyde Village Striders and the website for registrations is here. Entry fees are £6 for UK Athletics affiliated members, £8 for unaffiliated runners. Entry on the day will cost £2 extra. For the Junior Monster, registration is on the day only and priced at £2.

The 2014 Millbrook Monster - Review of last year's event
Thank-you to all 224 of those who competed in the 2014 Millbrook Monster 10K hill-run; making it bigger, better and more memorable than ever before!
Results are available in pdf or Excel (Junior pdf Excel). This year's winner was Stockport Harrier's Andi Jones in the rather astounding time of 35 minutes, 19.97 seconds! That's around 10 and a half miles an hour, not bad for a runner on any terrain!
And their Off! 224 runners start their way up the hill to Brushes Reservoir |
They Keep Coming....... | And there's more | And More |
